HVAC Maintenance Technician (VIP Program Focus)

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to perform routine service, system tune-ups, and inspections for our customers. This role is critical in maintaining system performance, preventing breakdowns, and creating opportunities for future service and system upgrades.
You’ll be the face of the company for recurring customers, ensuring a high-quality experience while identifying potential issues before they become major problems.
Key Responsibilities
Routine Maintenance & Tune-Ups
Perform seasonal maintenance on residential HVAC systems (furnaces, heat pumps, AC, ductless systems)
Complete VIP membership tune-ups according to company checklists and standards
Inspect, clean, and test system components to ensure safe and efficient operation
Replace filters, clean coils, check electrical components, and verify system performance
System Inspections & Issue Identification
Identify wear-and-tear, safety concerns, and potential failure points
Clearly document findings, including photos and notes, in ServiceTitan
Communicate recommended repairs or upgrades to the customer in a clear, non-pushy way
Create opportunities for service technicians or sales team when larger issues are found
Customer Experience
Deliver a professional, friendly, and informative experience during every visit
Educate customers on system condition, maintenance needs, and best practices
Reinforce the value of the VIP membership program
Build long-term relationships that drive retention and referrals
Operational & Dispatch Communication
Maintain real-time communication with dispatch regarding job status and availability
Accurately track time, materials, and job completion in ServiceTitan
Ensure all job information is complete for follow-up, payroll, and reporting accuracy
Help keep schedules running efficiently by staying on time and updating delays
Membership Program Support
Perform maintenance visits tied to VIP memberships and recurring service agreements
Identify expired, expiring, or lapsed memberships and communicate with customers
Support membership renewals through education and value demonstration
Qualifications
HVAC experience preferred (maintenance or service background)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes/checklists
Good communication and customer service skills
Comfortable using tablets and field software (experience with ServiceTitan is a plus)
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
What Success Looks Like
Consistent, high-quality maintenance visits completed efficiently
Accurate and thorough system inspections and documentation
Strong customer relationships and high membership retention
Clear identification of issues that convert into service or sales opportunities
Minimal callbacks due to missed items during maintenance
Compensation & Structure
Hourly through a training period, normally 60 days, then performance pay.
